EDINBURGH, Scotland -- Britain has turned down a request by American relatives of Lockerbie bombing victims to release evidence relating to the disaster.
``We have come to the conclusion there isn't going to be a trial, and since there isn't going to be a trial, we say `put out the evidence,' '' Bert Ammerman, of River Vale, N.J., said in a telephone interview Monday.
The 1988 bombing of the New York-bound flight over Lockerbie, Scotland, killed all 259 people on board and 11 on the ground.
