MICHAEL JAMES ANDERSON OF MADISON CHARGED WITH 21 COUNTS OF POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

MADISON, Wis., Jan. 25 -- The Wisconsin Attorney General issued the following news release:

On Thursday, January 20, 2011, Special Agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), along with members of the Madison Police Department executed a search warrant at the residence of Michael James Anderson, located at 114 Lynnhaven Rd, Madison, WI.

Seized as a result of the search warrant were three laptop computers, one desktop computer, three hard drives, numerous items of computer medium and 6 long guns.

According to the criminal complaint, upon a review of some items of computer media, child pornography was recovered and Anderson was arrested for possession of child pornography.

Mr. Anderson was charged with 21 Counts of Possession of Child Pornography. A copy of the criminal complaint is available at: http://www.doj.state.wi.us/news/files/20110125102330820.pdf

Questions concerning this case should be directed to the Dane County District Attorney's Office. Mr. Anderson will be arraigned today at 1:30 p.m.

A defendant enjoys the presumption of innocence. The prosecution must prove its allegations at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.
